Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives

Freddy Finger is on a mission – a mission to prevent death and damage caused by broken or disabled smoke alarms. Non-working smoke alarms are a major contributor to fire-related death, injury and property damage in the US. Much of this loss can be avoided by a simple act…put your finger on it! Test your smoke alarms every month and replace the batteries twice a year. It’s a fact. Working smoke detectors can and do save lives!

Fire Prevention Campaigns is a nonprofit under Education that Works and was developed in a joint effort with fire departments. The Freddy Finger campaign reminds the public that protecting themselves, their families and their communities is as easy as the push of a finger. Proceeds go toward developing new materials for fire departments.
